Powersports Service Technician

Overview:
At Gateway Powersports, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Powersports Technician to join our dynamic team. This role primarily involves the maintenance, diagnostics, service, and repair of recreational vehicles including snowmobiles, ATVs, and UTVs. As a growing distributor of used and aftermarket recreational vehicles and parts, our true team environment strives to keep customers on the trails through high-quality service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small engine mechanics, a passion for outdoor power equipment, and a deep commitment to excellence in service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a mechanic with specialized knowledge in UTVs, ATVs, and snowmobiles.
• Certification from a recognized technical school in small engine repair or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment proficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Physical ability to handle heavy machinery and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair services on UTVs, ATVs, and snowmobiles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using both manual tools and diagnostic software.
• Complete repairs ranging from basic maintenance to complex engine rebuilds.
• Provide detailed service recommendations and explanations to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts provided.
• Keep the work environment safe, clean, and organized.
• Assist in managing inventory of parts and supplies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a dealership or automotive service center
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software
